Sex Therapy
Meghan is a sex-positive and kink-friendly therapist who is comfortable talking with clients about issues they may be having with their sexuality. Sexuality can be a difficult topic to discuss, especially if you fear that there may be something “wrong” with you. Meghan helps her clients to bring these issues forward in a comfortable and non-threatening way, free of judgment, so that issues can be addressed and worked through.
Individuals and couples are welcome. Issues of differences in arousal, anxiety about completing sex acts, sexual incompatibility, and other concerns related to achieving sexual satisfaction with a partner can be addressed in therapy. Meghan will learn about your intimacy style and your relationship to see how these factors may be affecting your sex life, in addition to conversations about specific sexual concerns.
Meghan is also open to and experienced in working with individuals who practice alternative sexuality, including members of the kink, polyamorous, and BDSM communities. Whether your reason for pursuing therapy involves your sex life specifically, or you just want to see a therapist who you can trust not to judge your lifestyle choices, Meghan could be the right therapist for you.
When intimacy and concerns of the body are the focus of psychotherapy, music can be particularly helpful. Couples sometimes find that creating music together opens them up to new insights about the ways that they relate to each other. Individuals find that the ability of the music to increase their awareness of their feelings and bodily sensations (taking them out of a purely intellectual experience) is immensely valuable in understanding their approach to their own sexuality.
Other clients aren’t interested in using the music, and that decision won’t detract from a positive experience in therapy. The most important thing is your willingness to explore, learn about yourself, and grow.
